Collecting in the Gilded Age - Lecture

Xavier F. Salomon, Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator of The Frick Collection in New York, will discuss the Frick family’s collecting proclivities, focusing on their acquisitions and activities after the family’s move from Pittsburgh to New York. Mr. Salomon examines the wide-ranging and influential collecting interests of both Henry Clay Frick and his daughter, Helen, as well as the important legacy they left in their home-turned-museum in NYC.
