Beaver Co. Festival of Trees

Help celebrate the 26th year of an exciting Holiday event that gives  joy and excitement to both young and old. You can have photos taken with Santa, visit the Candy Cane Lane gift shop and the Christmas store for gifts and treats. Proceed support the Beaver Co. Children and Youth Services Advisory Board in helping provide scholarships, coats, shoes, summer camps and additional support for children under the care of the Children and Youth Services Agency of Beaver County as well as the effort of the U.S. SARR Corps in the finding of missing children and adults who suddenly go missing and to return them home safely. All contributions are tax deductible.

Bradys Run Park is approximately one hour from Pittsburgh and the most expensive entry ticket is $5 - there are discounts for seniors and children. Find out more

Send a Letter to Santa

Searching for a memorable way for your child to send a letter to Santa in the North Pole this year? Kids are invited to drop off their letters to Santa in the Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History. Just bring a letter to the special mailbox.

The touchable reindeer, Sven, will be keeping guard over the mailbox, so make sure to pet him a few times as a “thank you” for his hard work! Find out more

WORD PLAY - Fri and Sat

Part This American Life, part stand-up comedy, WordPlay is a modern twist on the ancient art of storytelling. A stimulating experience that blends personal stories with a live music mash-up.

Actors, comedy writers, and everyday people read their own stories while a DJ spins a real-time soundtrack. Using anything from Bruno Mars to Bach.  DJ and producer work with each performer to develop the perfect music mix, creating a storytelling experience unlike anything out there today.

WordPlay will be held on November 20th and 21st. at Bricolage Production Company, 937 Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA. Bring little ones to dance with The Nutcracker's Sugarplum Fairy at this festive event. Phipps and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre are pleased to present Saturdays with the Sugarplum Fairy, 30-minute creative movement dance classes and story time sessions with a dancer in costume.

Activities are free with Conservatory admission and appropriate for comfortably-dressed children of all ages. Sessions will take place on both Sat., Nov. 21 and Sat., Dec. 5. No advance registration is required.

BREW CINEMA in Dormont

Brew Cinema (hosted by Cinema 412) is a new monthly series highlighting a classic film partnered with a local brewery. 100% of the proceeds of each screening benefits The Hollywood and a local charitable partner (November's partner is Habitat for Humanity. Each event also features a limited edition screenprinted poster created for the film being shown.

Three Rivers Film Festival - thru Nov 15





Steeltown’s 7th annual event is part of the Three Rivers Film Festival celebrating independent filmmaking in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The event features the first Steeltown Indie Class, showcasing short projects made around the region and local filmmakers will share their experiences about making films here in Pittsburgh. Steeltown Indie offers educational and mentorship opportunities for local filmmakers as well cash grants to help make their projects happen.

Lawrenceville Artists' Studio Tour
   Sunday 10am -6pm

This November is11th consecutive year of opening up studios to the public for a free day of art and creative engagement. What started as a group of 10 artists, has grown into a community of over 45 participants. Every fall the tour educates visitors about different artistic practices and invites people to Lawrenceville to enjoy the neighborhood.

I plan to start my tour with a stop at La Gourmandine French bakery at 4605 Butler.

Wings & Wildlife Art Show - Nov 7 & 8


The Wings & Wildlife Art Show return with vibrant wildlife art. This juried show and marketplace will include 46 locally and nationally known artists from 5 states working in paint, photography, jewelry, ceramics, wood, and more.

River City Brass - The Home of the Brave


In 1981, something special happened – a musical renaissance took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Under the baton of conductor Robert Bernat, the River City Brass took to the Carnegie Music Hall stage for its inaugural concert on November 21st. It was an evening of musical excellence and determination – determination to bring about the revival of the grassroots tradition of the American brass band.

This November, join the band as they recognize those who have given so much to our nation with patriotic tunes such as "Summon the Heroes," "The Stars and Stripes" and "The Armed Forces Salute."
