Fireworks!


The city of Pittsburgh’s fireworks display will begin at 9:35 p.m. July 4 at Point State Park. Sponsored by EQT, the fireworks will be launched from a barge in the Ohio River just downstream from the Point.

Edged Out  at the Frick Environmental Center


A new exhibit of paintings and sculptures puts the hidden lives of amphibians around us on display thru August. The exhibit focuses on how amphibians have been pushed out of their habitats.

yART Sale at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts - Sunday



The 10th annual yART Sale brings together more than 70 local artists and artisans to create a yard sale where you’re sure to find treasures. Adjacent to Mellon Park, PCA's campus is at the corner of Fifth and Shady Avenues in Shadyside. 

Admission is free. Hours are 10:00am – 4:00pm, rain or shine. Sunday, June 24

The outdoor event features approximately 70 local artists, bringing affordable art, equipment, ceramics, photographs, jewelry, art books, fabric, prints, glass, and art supplies to budding artists and collectors; and, at the same time, providing artists a venue to sell inventory and materials. CLICK for artist info.

SUMMER CONCERTS
All concerts are FREE and begin at 7:30pm unless otherwise noted.

- Food trucks and Hop Farm Brewing Company craft beer are at all concerts starting at 6:00pm.
- All concerts take place rain or shine at open-air amphitheaters with no covered seating.
South Park Amphitheater opens at sunrise when the park opens.
Hartwood Acres Park opens at 8:00am. The gate to the amphitheater parking lot opens at Noon unless otherwise noted.
- Folding chairs are permitted.
- Popup tents and umbrellas may be used for shade prior to the concert, but they must be taken down before the performance begins.
- Dogs are permitted, but they must remain on leashes at all times and be up to date on all vaccinations and licensing. Owners must clean up after their dogs.

Summer Reading Extravaganza Starts June 10



Challenge your friends this summer to read, read, and read some more! Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh needs your help to break the city’s 180,000 Summer Reading record. The fun begins June 10 with an outdoor festival for all ages. Grab a friend and head over to the Library in Oakland for music, crafts, games, storytelling, food trucks and lots more. While you’re there, find out how to enroll in Summer Reading and take part in our city-wide video challenge.
