FEED MORE


Cold War Kids, The Lone Bellow and The Stone Foxes will headline the inaugural Feed More Festival on July 17 at Stage AE.

The 1-day benefit concert for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank replaces the annual three-day Pittsburgh Blues Festival at Hartwood Acres.

Doors will open at 2 p.m. with the first band taking the stage at 3 p.m. There will be a variety of food trucks and an indoor I Made It Market.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com. General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the gate. VIP tickets are $125. Find out more

Big Butler Fair - July 1 - 9



The Big Butler Fair is the largest fair in Western Pennsylvania and considered by many to be the best fair in the country. We are proud to be a symbol of American family values. Mcsummerfest - July 2 - 9

Only 16 miles SW of Pittsburgh, it's a short drive to McDonald, PA and the volunteer fire department's 24th July celebration. You'll find rides, food and drink vendors, a parade at 5pm on Saturday and live music from 8-11 pm.

The Roving Art Cart

This season the Roving Art Cart celebrates Pittsburgh, The City of Bridges focusing on multi-media art projects that connect 3-D city bridges to your community.  The 43rd season features special guest artists, entertainers and much more. Children paint, sculpt, bead, and create a summer of magical fun. Weather impacts the type of projects chosen for the day.
 
Please note: Activities are best suited for children ages 5 to 12. Though all children should be supervised, children younger than 5 must have caretaker engagement in the activities.
Groups of Ten or More must make reservation requests one week in advance.

$1 Family Films at SouthSide Works Cinemas

SummerFest 2016


SummerFest  runs from June 22 through July 24 with productions designed to appeal to music and theater lovers of all ages, in intimate spaces seating approximately 100 to 300 patrons, and sung in English.

The festival begins with Carmen the Gypsy in a revival of the company's acclaimed flamenco-style adaptation of the Bizet opera by Jonathan Eaton and Robert Frankenberry. Carmen the Gypsy tours to unique and intimate Pittsburgh spaces of 75-100 seats: Sphinx Cafe, Oakland; Artifacts, West End; and Snuggery Farm, Sewickley Heights, near Wexford, PA, June 22-July 2.

Walk Flight 93 on June 25th



Support the 2nd annual Walk 93 and visit the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville.

Participants will walk 2.28 miles via the Allee walkway, the Wetlands Bridge and the Western Overlook Trail and tour the Visitor's Center from 8-9 am before the walk. Proceeds go towards purchasing new trees and damage repair. Find out more.

The Crystal Blue Revue

This is the group's first concert together in 45 years. Members recorded such great hits as “I Think Were Alone Now,” “Mony Mony,” “Sweet Cherry Wine,” and others but also co-wrote such classics as “Crystal Blue Persuasion” and “Crimson and Clover.” A classic night indeed!

Staring Mike Vale, Ron Rosman and Eddie Gray (former, original members of the Classic Rock Group, Tommy James and The Shondells). Also featuring Pittsburgh-based show band, Johnny Angel and The Halos.

2016 ReUse Fest


 
This is your chance to donate a variety of items to local nonprofits at one convenient location. 

Clean out the garage, the basement, the overflowing closets because the region’s 5th annual large-scale collection of materials to be REUSED by local nonprofits will take place on Saturday, June 18.

This one-of-a-kind drop-off event accepts a wide variety of materials including bikes, medical supplies, usable building materials, clothing and household goods, gently used furniture and mattresses, baby supplies, pet supplies, backpacks and much more. This one-day event diverts materials from local landfills to reuse by Pittsburgh non-profits.

Saturday Crafternoons promote hands-on learning and community engagement for youth in grades 1-8 through free, drop-in workshops with local makers and community partners. Each month, we host a series of fun, educational STEAM workshops that involve collaboration, skill-building, and neighborhood connections. The goal is to empower youth to be confident makers, foster a love of DIY projects, promote connected learning, and activate an interest in the community and city.

The schedule for the summer concerts at South Park Amphitheater and Hartwood have been announced. Concerts don't start until late June but it's not too early to make plans. All concerts are free except for the Allegheny County Music Festival, which asks for a $20 donation to benefit the Human Services department.
