Free Tours of the Old Allegheny County Jail Museum

It doesn't look like spring break weather is going to make you want to be outdoors everyday so try exploring some indoor places.
On Mondays from February through October, head over to the Old Allegheny County Jail Museum between 11:30 am and 1 pm for a FREE tour. A docent will be on hand to tell you the story of the place. Between 1999 and 2001, it was renovated to house the Family Division fo the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, but until 1995 it was still used as the Allegheny County Jail. A portion of one of the cell blocks has been preserved as the “Old Allegheny County Jail Museum.”
The Jail is just one of the Pittsburgh landmarks avialble for exploring through the History and Landmarks Foundation. Find out more about visiting the jail and other local landmarks at the Foundation's website
