Comfortable in Morningside

Hidden away between downtown Pittsburgh and Highland Park, the community of Morningside is known for quiet tree-lined streets and sturdy two-story brick homes with front porches meant for sitting.  At less than two square miles in area, Morningside is a close-knit community where neighbors know each other and the highlight of the year is the St. Rocco Festival, two days in August featuring music, dance and fireworks.

A great view from the front porch
Farmland until the trolley came through in 1905, the area quickly developed into a quiet residential neighborhood.  Well-kept family homes line up along pleasant streets, punctuated by ball fields and playgrounds.  Spacious Highland Park and the Pittsburgh Zoo are within walking distance.  From this quiet residential setting, it’s just a few minutes trip to downtown Pittsburgh, the universities and hospitals of Oakland, or over the river to the North Side and Waterworks Mall.

1037 Duffield Street
This handsome home at 1037 Duffield Street epitomizes the Morningside home.  A lovely front door with stained glass windows welcomes you into the bright and spacious living room.  A finished basement with built-in bar is perfect for entertaining.  Or take the party outside on the semi-secluded back patio.  The spacious front porch is waiting for that special porch swing.  Relax and enjoy the view!

Beautiful updated kitchen
Three bedrooms and three full baths make this a real family home.  Rooms are spacious with loads of storage.  Little touches of luxury include stained glass windows, crown molding and a working fireplace.  In addition to the family room with built-in bar and sink, the finished basement includes a laundry and integral garage.  The well-lit attic, with a window, is perfect for storing household items or as a playful hide away.

No maintenance worries here - 1999 was a good year for this home! The kitchen was updated with wood cabinetry, a dishwasher and an addition that includes a large counter area for meals or homework, a large bank of cabinets, a walk in closet and a full bath.  The roof was also replaced in ‘99 and the home continues to be well-maintained for a comfortable lifestyle.

Welcome Home!
Morningside remains a prosperous community of hard-working residents with strong roots.  This is a house just waiting to become a family home!
