One of the joys of summer is fresh, fresh produce and there’s no better place to get it than a local Farmer’s Market. Markets are beginning to set up all over Allegheny County. In addition to the very best from our local farmers, many offer live plants and cut flowers, prepared foods, fresh breads and locally produced cheeses, jams and honey. In addition to providing the freshest and most healthful foods, Farmer’s Markets are affordable, support local business and protect the environment by minimizing transportation and packaging costs. All that and a yummy bag of kettle corn – what more could one ask?
