Is your home ready for YOUR vacation?

The last thing you want to worry about is the safety of your home. Here are some reminders for prepping your home.

Stop Your Newspaper and Mail or ask a neighbor to collect it
Park Your Car in the Garage - you can also ask a neighbor to park their car in your driveway
Put a Light on a Timer – or get an app for your phone to control lights, etc. - it’s also a good idea to install a motion-activated sensor on an outdoor floodlight

Mow Your Lawn – if you’ll be gone longer than a week, arrange to have it mown while you're away.

Some of these items are easily overlooked:
Unplug Small Appliances and Electronics

Raise the Thermostat to reduce electricity costs

Put the Water Heater on Vacation Mode – newer models have a VAC mode that will save money.
Turn off Water Valves to the dishwasher, washing machine and sinks. You can also turn off all water to the house if you don't have a sprinkler system or someone coming in to water plants or feed pets.
