CMU International Film Fest

One of CMU’s best-kept secrets is its annual International Film Festival. The festival, this year titled Faces of Work, is the only student-run International Film Festival in the country. Most films are shown in McConomy Auditorium, but there are some other venues around Pittsburgh that will show a few of the 18 films being screened. The Festival officially begins on March 19. Click here to see the schedule and buy advance tickets. I already have my ticket for "Dior and I" on March 20th!

Depth of Field—Processing the Work
of Women
Photographers
Thursday, March 19
7:00–9:00 p.m.
The Frick Art Museum

Linda Benedict-Jones, Retiring Curatorial Chair of Exhibitions & Curator of Photography for the Carnegie Museum of Art.

To see the world through a woman’s eyes is a powerful thing. The Frick does just that in celebration of Women’s History Month as it welcomes female photographers living and working in Pittsburgh. Linda Benedict-Jones shares insights into the contributions of women in the history of photography and moderates a panel of women who shape our collective vision by boldly and beguilingly capturing and revealing their unique perspectives. Complete with a custom cocktail mixed and served by LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails), the evening toasts the women behind the viewfinders.
