America's Museum
The Butler Institute is the first museum devoted solely to American art.. The original structure, dedicated in 1919, is a McKim, Mead and White architectural masterpiece listed on the National Register of Historic places. And it's size makes for a leisurely half-day visit.
The painting at left is Winslow Homer's "Snap the Whip" and is considered one of the institute's gems - worth the 1-hour drive to Youngstown! Plan your visit.
