God's Acre - Homewood Cemetery  Multimedia Show  Oct 18, 6pm

While the event happens after dark and 13 days before Halloween, photographer Wade says he isn’t out to spook anyone – that would just play into stereotypes of cemeteries. But the venue was carefully chosen.

“Having the photographs of the cemeteries projected on a big screen in the cemetery chapel is going to be more evocative,” he says. “It’ll make you think more about what you’re looking at.

God’s Acre begins with the cemetery tour at 6 p.m. The remainder of the program begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Homewood Cemetery is located in Point Breeze.

The Apollo 11 Lunar Module Landed At Heinz History Center - see it and see "First Man"

It’s been nearly 50 years since the Apollo 11 team landed the lunar module, Eagle, in 1969. Now Pittsburgh can get close to a defining moment in American history thanks to a new exhibit at the Heinz History Center.  Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission

Museum president and CEO Andy Masich joins Jay Apt, a retired astronaut who flew on four shuttle missions before becoming a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and co-director of CMU’s Electricity Industry Station Center. Apt is one of five Pittsburghers who has traveled to space.

The Heinz is one of four museums nationwide to host more than 100 mission artifacts, including the original spacecraft transported from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Krishna's Party - Oct 17-21

Indians throw crazy parties. Heard of Diwali? A million lamps floating on a river and fireworks to wake the dead. Heard of Holi? An explosion of color and joy and massive dry cleaning bills. How about Onam? No? It’s the harvest festival, and this one could be the craziest of them all!
Mrs. Krishnan is renting an apartment to the overzealous wannabe DJ, James. James has invited a few friends into the back room of Mrs. Krishnan's dairy to celebrate Onam and the special surprise that her son has returned home for the holiday. But when 100 strangers turn up (you, the audience) and settle in, Mrs. K has no choice but to throw the party of her life! An immersive experience like no other, join the party with music, dancing and vegetarian dal prepared live each performance. Come as you are or break out that festive sari. Get Tickets
