Black Tie Evening Nov 6 celebrates 50th Anniversary of “Night of the Living Dead”

8pm on the red carpet at the Byham Theater

George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” is returning to the place where it all began, with a new 4K state-of-the-art restoration, created by the Museum of Modern Art from the original camera negative. This restoration was supervised by George himself. Though it started as a low-budget horror flick, made far outside the Hollywood system, “Night of the Living Dead” is now considered one of the greatest horror movies ever!    Tickets/Information

Native American Pow Wow
Saturday and Sunday, noon -7pm in Dorseyville

Dance Competition And Traditional Drumming

Native American culture will be celebrated this weekend at the 40th annual Council of Three Rivers American Indian Center Pow Wow. The event includes more than 150 dancers and drummers from multiple Native American tribes.

Cultural advisor Mike Simms said even though there isn’t a reservation in Pennsylvania, there is still a thriving native community, which is shown at the Pow Wow.

“It’s a great experience,” Simms said. “It gives you a chance to realize that the native culture’s not dead and we’re still here practicing our culture and our teachings.”
