Ypapanti Greek Food Festival

The Ypapanti Greek Food Festival in East Pittsburgh has several centers for food and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy a sunny afternoon or a cool summer night.

There are both indoor and outdoor dining rooms as well as an outdoor Grecian garden with a festive environment that includes  gyros, loukoumades, in addition to live Greek folk music and dance performances.

Allegheny Observatory Tour
 
 
Tours of this working research facility begin with a short slide or film presentation and continue with a walking tour that ends at the 13″ Fitz-Clark refractor telescope.  If it’s a clear night, you’ll see whatever is within the telescope’s range.  Tours are free but reservations are required.  Call 412-321-2400 between 1:00 and 5:00 Monday through Friday to reserve your spot.  Tours are more adult oriented, however children aged 7 and older may attend

Live Storytelling set to a DJ Soundtrack
 
Part This American Life, part stand-up comedy, Bricolage brings live storytelling back to the stage.
 
 Actors, comedy writers, and everyday people read their own funny, and often poignant, stories while a DJ spins a real-time soundtrack ussing anything from Bruno Mars to Bach. The event begins with free drinks at a “Half-Hour Happy-Hour” at 7:30pm.

Make your own video game with pro game makers from Schell Games. All experience levels welcome. Materials and equipment will be provided.
