For 36 years Pat DiCesare ruled the Pittsburgh concert scene. Virtually every major rock and pop act - from the Rolling Stones to Led Zeppelin to Bruce Springsteen - passed through Pittsburgh during these years to perform in concerts produced and promoted by Pat DiCesare.

Mr. DiCesare will speak, sell and sign copies of his book.

If you’ve ever walked downtown and found yourself stopping to take in the beauty of the Omni William Penn Hotel or marveling at famed architect H.H. Richardson’s Romanesque Revival design for the Allegheny County Courthouse, then this tour is for you.

 

On Friday, May 1, the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation will offer a noontime, one-hour walking tour of the major historic buildings and modern skyscrapers along Grant Street.

 

The bevy of beautiful buildings on the tour includes the previously mentioned Allegheny County Courthouse and Omni William Penn Hotel, as well as the City-County Building, Frick Building and the Union Trust Building.

The Moth - True Stories Told Live

The Moth is an acclaimed not-for-profit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. It is a celebration of both the raconteur, who breathes fire into true tales of ordinary life, and the storytelling novice, who has lived through something extraordinary and yearns to share it.

This is for all who have ever wanted to enjoy Carnegie Science Center without having to elbow 8-year-olds out of the way for a chance to compete against the Air Hockeybot or launch a rocket into the air. Live music, cash bars, snacks available for purchase, four floors of exhibits, lots of science fun, and no kids!
