23 Rooms with a View--Working with Clayton

 

Join Emilia Boehm, curator of Clayton & the Car and Carriage Museum, for coffee and pastries and a behind the scenes look at Clayton. She’ll discuss the challenges and rewards of working with a 23-room, well-appointed, historic Victorian mansion. From the curious-finicky cabinets to the challenging painting installations and surprising finds in library books. Working with the collection at Clayton is often an adventure!

BIKEFEST

With only two wheels, all of Pittsburgh is open to you.  It’s time for BikeFest in the city and this Friday, August 8th, is the 10th annual Kick Off parties!  BikeFest features 17 days of biking activities ranging from rookies to expert.  You can even rent a bike if you don't have one. Kick Off night provides a a whole night of fun for anyone interested:
VIP Party:  6:00PM to 8:00PM, VIP guests will enjoy small plates by some of Pittsburgh’s best chefs including Justin Severino (Cure), Chad Townsend (formerly of Salt of the Earth), Kevin Sousa (Superior Motors), and Jamilka Borges (Bar Marco). Or grab a pie from Pizza Boat’s mobile wood-fired oven. Sip wine, local beer, and cocktails by Maggie’s Farm Rum. Fernando Martì on the 1s and 2s.”

Main Event Party:  8:00PM to 12:00AM, DJs Selecta, Edgar Um, MB, and Mary Mack will keep guest dancing all night long. The main party will also feature silent auction with dozens of desirable items like bikes, art, and much more. And of course, keep an eye out for Thick Bikes’ annual BikeFest Surprise.
