The Frick Family Fun Days: American Adventure
Celebrate American history through art at The Frick.  Explore the galleries and discover how portraits of founding fathers, abundant still lifes, majestic landscapes and scenes of everyday life capture the American spirit.  Get creative at art stations around the museum and don’t leave without stopping at the portrait “parlour” to strike a fancy pose and smile for the camera.

Meet n’ Make is Creative Reuse’s monthly creative potluck that’s BYOB and totally free. Bring whatever it is you’re currently working on or get inspired by the magic of your surroundings at the shop. Use up to a small bulk bag’s worth of material from the Bulk Section for free! Tools like scissors and glue are available for use. Meet a new friend, encounter an old one, or bring your entire contacts list so you’re not alone. Find out more

An American Odyssey - at the Frick 

The Warner Collection of American Painting is an exciting exhibition of American artists from the nation’s early years of independence through the dawn of the 20th century and includes major artists and movements from the Peale family and Gilbert Stuart to American Impressionists like Childe Hassam and Theodore Robinson, with beautiful Hudson River School works falling in between.

 

Take advantage of the docents’ expertise and plan to attend a Gallery Talk or Docent Tour when you visit until the exhibit closes on May 25

Silent Disco Ice Skating at Schenley Park Rink

Participants don headsets plugging them into their own private music while gliding around with friends. The disco is brought to you by Frequency 528, a coalition of artists that started organizing silent discos in Pittsburgh last summer.

Details: Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink on Overlook Drive in Oakland from 7 to 11 p.m. Admission is $20, for headsets, access to the bar and pizza, and chances for door prizes.
