Mellon Square 2013 Summer Concert Series

Enjoy live performances by local Pittsburgh bands at Mellon Square in Downtown Pittsburgh on Thursdays this summer. Concerts are FREE and start at noon, so stop by the square with your lunch and enjoy the outdoors and some live entertainment to break up your day. Please visit the City of Pittsburgh website later for the full lineup (will be listed shortly). Concerts run from June 14 through August 23, 2013.

Free Swimming Lessons at Allegheny County Pools

The Allegheny County Parks Department offers free swimming lessons that are conducted at the pools in Boyce, North, Settlers Cabin and South parks from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in July. The classes are open to children ages five and older. Pre-registration is not required.

Classes for individuals with last names beginning with “A” through “K” will be on Tuesdays, and casses for individuals with last names beginning with “L” through “Z” will be on Thursdays.

Friday at the Three Rivers Art Festival

 

There are lots of interesting events at the Festival, especially this Friday. Who could resist World Music Day and Food Truck Day?

Colombian performer, composer, songwriter and musical producer Jontre will perform Friday, June 14 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm | Dollar Bank Stage and

Food Truck Fridays feature some of Pittsburgh’s most popular food trucks coming together to add great flavor to our celebration of the arts. These independent local businesses include Bella Christiez, BRGR, Dozen, Franktuary, Oh My Grille, and Zum Zum.

Mini Golf at Schenley Park

Play a round of mini-golf at Schenly Park’s ice skating rink! The rink itself has been transformed into a fun mini-golf course which happens to be very affordable – only $4 for adults and $3 for kids.

The course is open June 14 through August 25, 2013, Tuesday through Friday from 4-9pm, Saturday & Sunday from 1-9pm.

Bach, Beethoven and Brunch at Mellon Park

Bach, Beethoven and Brunch presents free classical music this summer for all to enjoy.Concerts will be held every Sunday from June 16 until August 11, 2013. Each starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends around noon.



All concerts will be held in Mellon Park, located at Fifth and Shady Avenues in the Point Breeze/Shadyside area of Pittsburgh.

The Bagel Factory is on site for food purchases, or bring your own packed brunch. (No alcohol.)

Three Rivers Arts Festival

June 7 – 16 is a celebration of the arts at the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival, and there’s a special spirit of collaboration in the air. We thank these events for their cooperation in making these ten days unforgettable. Join us all in celebrating the vitality of our city.

There are great events planned throughout these ten days, including Pittsburgh Pirates home games in PNC Park and a bridge party on the Warhol Bridge on Friday, June 14th!

Free admission for Dads on Father’s Day at the Pittsburgh Zoo
