Pittsburgh is home to one of only four festivals in the U.S. especially for children. There are performers from around the world and a variety of crafts, workshops and activities.

Sixth Annual Touch-A-Truck Event


 

Let your kids get behind the wheel, honk the horns and meet the men and women who drive the trucks.  Tickets for all attendees 12 months and older can be purchased online for $4 or at the event for $5.  Parking is FREE for attendees. 

Fundraisers like Touch-a-Truck enable the Junior League of Pittsburgh have created and supported programs to improve the lives of women and children in Pittsburgh since 1922.

See The Penguins’ Playoffs on the Big Screen!

Pittsburgh playoff tradition returns tonight when fans can watch the Penguins’ playoff opener on the Trib Total Media “Big Screen” – in a new location, across the street from CONSOL Energy Center -  in the arena parking lot at the corner of Centre Avenue and Mario Lemieux Place. It will be part of an interactive and fan-friendly FedEx Ground Fan Zone, featuring live entertainment, special promotions, giveaways and playoff rally towels.

 

 

Scheduled Dates: Tonight at 7:30pm and Friday at 7:00pm

Time: Four hours before home games and two hours before away gamesCost: FREE

Allegheny General Rated one of Top U.S. Hospitals for Safety

 

A recent article in AARP The Magazine noted that Leapfrog Group gave Allegheny General an “A” rating for safety based on seven criteria including medication errors, infection confinement and surgical errors.

Plan your Recycling of Hard-to Recycle Items

 

The Pennsylvania Resources Council collects computers, televisions and other hard-to-recycle items. No charge for computers, televisions, cell phones, printer toner cartridges, compact fluorescent lights, EPS packaging foam (marked No. 6) and polystyrene (new item). 

For a fee you can drop off paper for shredding, alkaline batteries, fluorescent tubes, specialty lights and small appliances containing Freon.
