During the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, tensions mount between the producer/ director/star and his leading lady, who just happens to be his ex-wife. This ‘theatrical production within a theatrical production’ is a musical theatre classic – it even won the first- ever Tony Award for best musical in 1949.
