MARS NEW YEAR 2017 CELEBRATION - NASA Inspired Educational Event- Mars, PA

The Celebration is a collaboration between Mars Borough and NASA's Mars Exploration Program. The event coincides with the planet Mars' New Year that occurs every 687 days. From May 4th to May 6th the community of Mars, Pennsylvania will ring in the new year with celebration, innovation and exploration. It is designed to positively influence our youth on the importance of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. 

Currently, NASA is developing the capabilities to send humans to Mars in the year 2033. NASA scientists and astronauts along with representatives from PITT Mobile Science Lab and the Carnegie Science Center will be doing demonstrations throughout the weekend festival. The Mars New Year Celebration brings two planets together as we celebrate the new frontier of planet Mars right in the heart of Butler County.
