EDEN, a Celebration of Hélio Oiticica
3rd Thursday at CMOA
Transport yourself to Brazil with a trip through CMOA’s new exhibition Hélio Oititica: To Organize Delirium, beats by Rio-based DJ duo IOIA, and a late-night café menu inspired by South American flavors.
This is the first comprehensive US retrospective of the influential Brazilian artist (1937–1980). Ranging from beautifully balanced geometric paintings to interactive environments, Oiticica’s work is visually arresting, wholly original, and seeks to build a participatory relationship with audiences. The exhibition is co-organized by CMOA, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and The Art Institute of Chicago.
