Special Event: British Ghosts in Art and Literature
The Frick Art Museum
September 10,  6:30–8:00 p.m.

As a contribution to the 2015 ‘Britsburgh’ celebration, the Frick presents a program that explores the themes of ghosts and hauntings in British art and literature.

Frick Director and British art specialist Robin Nicholson will introduce the topic with a brief talk on ghosts in British art, followed by a screening of one of the classic half hour BBC dramatizations of a ghost story by M.R. James, provost of King’s College, Cambridge, considered to be one of the great ghost story writers of all time.

A director-led panel discussion explores the themes in relation to Pittsburgh history and traditions with Pittsburgh writer Graham Shearing and Homewood Cemetery Director of Programming, Jennie Benford. The evening will conclude with a wine reception in the art museum rotunda.
