Marathon Weekend

If you didn't register to run, you can still be a part of the race weekend fun - register to volunteer and support runners! Every volunteer will receive: an official volunteer t-shirt, $10 DICK'S Sporting Goods gift certificate, Volunteer of STEEL lapel pin, and an Invite to the Volunteer Appreciation Party. Of course, you can also be a spectator.

The Market is held on the lawn and parking is a bit limited so come with a friend, wear boots or comfy shoes and bring newspapers or plastic to protect your car.

Silk Screen  Asian American Film Festival
April 26th – May 4th

The Festival features 47 screenings of 27 films at four locations and showcases the best in Asian and Asian-Amercan film. This year films will be playing at Regent Square Theater, Melwood Screening Room, Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s Earth Theater, and Waterworks Cinemas.
The Festival opens with Palestine’s Oscar-nominated film “Omar” on April 26th and closes with the Japanese melodrama “Mourning Recipe” on May 4th. Foodies, thrill seekers, and sports fans alike will enjoy the line-up including a remake of the Oscar-winning “Unforgiven”, Bollywood-style films, a documentary about cricket, and family drama about hula dancing culture.

Heinz Field Tours

 

Take your spring and summer visitors on a tour of Heinz Field. Guests get a behind-the-scenes look into the Great Hall, Clubs, Luxury Suites, Press Box, Field, South Plaza, and much more! Get up close and personal with this famous Pittsburgh landmark, and it’s affordable too! The tour is about 90 minutes long.

You can either do a "walk-up tour" or make a reservation for a group tour. The walk-up tour is designed for groups of less than 10 people.

Tour prices are the same for walk-up and group tours. There are not any group rates or discounted rates.

Adults (Ages 18-55) = $8.00
Children/Senior Rate (Ages 5-17 and 55+) = $7.00
Children under age 4 = FREE

Friday SkyWatch at the Science Center

The Carnegie Science Center invites you to learn about the wonders of the stars and explore globular clusters, nebulas and planets with their 16-inch Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope! Volunteers from the Amateur Astronomers Association will show you the ropes as you get a spectacular view of outer space…for only $2! Parking is $5 for non members and $3 for members.

PNC Carousel Opens April 14

The PNC Carousel in Schenley Plaza is a Victorian-style carousel, built by American craftsmen and generously funded by the PNC Financial Services Group. Visitors of all ages and abilities can enjoy its lively colors and old-fashioned pipe organ music.

2014 hours of operation
      April 14th - May 11th: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
      May 11th - August 31st: 12:00pm - 10:00pm
      August 31st - October 12th: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
You can buy a season pass ($50) or use tokens ($1.25 each) to pay for rides. Riders must be taller than 4 ft. or accompanied by an adult.
