Pittsburgh Thinkathon 2013

Part of the National Day of Civic Hacking

A hackathon (codefest, thinkathon, or startup weekend) is an event where  programmers, graphic designers, interface designers, business people and project managers collaborate on software projects over a finite timeline. A civic hackathon focuses on opportunities to improve cities, counties and municipalities. Ours is made possible through collaboration with the Mayor’s Office, Allegheny County, Pittsburgh Dataworks, BuiltinPgh, and Rustbuilt.

Why should you participate?

Because it’s your city and county.  By understanding and processing the content related to selected civic issues as well as selecting the appropriate delivery technology, significant community issues  can often be theorized and solved over a weekend.
Participants will:
  • Experience the creative process of the start-up culture
  • Enjoy a significant networking opportunity
  • Become part of a community of doers
  • Learn a ton
  • Become more involved in improving the community, city and county

Saturday, June 1 at 9:00 AM
Sunday, June 2 at 9:00 AM
